With the Microsoft Intune, August 5, 2019 update it is now possible to send custom push notifications to end users. This can be useful if you want to send a custom message to a selected group of people, for example for planned maintenance, or to everyone, for example, in the case of emergencies. In this blog I will show you how to send a custom notification to an iOS devise and how it looks like on the iOS device itself.
Requirements
Before you start, make sure that the iOS device meets the following requirements to receive notifications;
For the following steps login to the Microsoft Azure Portal.
Navigate to Microsoft Intune > Device > Send custom notifications
Fill in the title and the Body of the notification and click Next
Assign the notification to a group, this can be a user group or a device group.
Click Next
Click Create
The custom notification is now sent to the users or devices that are member of the group.
lets take a look on the iPad to see if the message is received.
As you can see, the custom notification is displayed on the lock screen.
The message is also visible within the Company Portal application.
